Reaching for the Sun - An Original Minimalist Flower Painting

from $34.00
Sold Out

Cosmos reach for the sun, taking any path they need to through the sky to realize their full potential.

These light pink blooms were hand-painted in watercolor paints featuring crushed mineral pigments from red jasper, fuchsite, and piemontite. The fuchsite creates a subtle sparkle that reveals itself in the sunlight. A few fine lines in a wheat-colored, water-based paint were illustrated atop some flower petals for a modern feel.

Created with quality and beauty in mind, this original, one-of-a-kind painting was created on archival, 100% cotton paper.

The painting measures 5” wide x 7” tall, with the option to mat it to 8” x 10”. Frames are not included, allowing you to chose the perfect frame for your own unique space.

ABOUT THE DREAM GARDEN COLLECTION

Dream Garden is the creative result of letting go and letting imagination take over. As a former student of plant geography and botanical classification, I found my artwork becoming too rigid and rooted in reality. Flowers themselves are quite ethereal, and it wasn’t a stretch to start creating some of my own ideas of what flowers could look like. Through intuition and taking a few risks, I began illustrating over “finished” paintings, and sometimes painting plants that don’t exist. Each piece in this art collection reflects a fragment of a botanical daydream.
